Bom Dia, Boa Tarde and Boa Noite!
My name is Marcelo, I was born and raised on River Urubu. My family has lived along this river for generations, we farm native foods and fish our river. I will be one of your guides for Friends of Rio / Amigos do Rio Adventure Sport Fishing Tours.

Our fishing lodge tourism tours offer a full board accommodation package. Your room will have a double bed, air conditioning, ensuite with a hot shower. All food is included in the package, including filtered water and even a couple of beers thrown in to help you unwind at the end of the day.
Our River Urubu is the perfect place for the fisherman to unwind and be among the most bio-diverse place in the world. Our guides will take you out in search of the hard fighting game fish the Peacock Bass, a beautiful and delicious resident. Flick your lure out all day in search of dinner or throw in a weighted bait and see which of the big resident catfish(red-tailed, shovel-nose) takes your bait. Our guides will show you our resident caimans, river dolphins, giant otters, birdlife, and of course the piranhas if the other fish aren't biting!
Marcelo is one of the kindest and most patient people I've met during my time in Brazil and the people who've joined me on trips with him say the same too. His knowledge of the river and the jungle is incredible, he can spot a red howler monkey or sloth in a tree from over 100 metres away, all while driving the boat at the same time! His family is true "Amazoneses", growing native fruits and the famous Amazon staple food mandioca too. His knowledge of the jungle is obvious in his stories of animal behavior. He is a true library of knowledge.
He's encountered it all along the river, from Jaguars crossing the river to huge black caiman, to giant snakes. You will leave a tour with Marcelo with those big fish you came for, as well as a wealth of stories and photos to take home with you.
