Who's this guy above??

He looks a lot like me right?!

I'm Rio, one of your guides and proudly part of this team with my friends here in Brazil.

I have been coming to Brazil every year since 2013, and have lived or traveled in 20 states of Brazil.

I’ve been through 55 cities and towns, 60 or more beautiful beaches, and 13 of Brazil’s amazing national parks.

Since arriving in Amazonas back in 2016, I've been calling this place home, every year I come here and months at a time.

To see this place once is a privilege but to live it, is life-changing.

Not one day in the jungle is the same as the other.

I've been called at by Jaguars, walked around the corner to 2 Pumas walking towards me.

Had venomous snakes swim across my chest, nearly stepped on a few too! Watched inquisitive Tayra's walk to within a metre of me, had huge branches thrown at me by spider monkeys, stung by countless bees, and see plenty of caimans, piranhas, and giant spiders to name a few experiences.

So, I'm never expecting the same day at the office and aim to learn a little bit more, on every trip. I'm very lucky that the people I work with are born and raised in this Jungle, and their skills are life-saving at times. Our lives here are about our surroundings, our friends, and our families.

It's that simple.

Our eco-tours help little monkeys like me have a home, all the tours we offer ensure the surroundings aren't taken by woodcutters, poachers, and farmers. Rio's goal is to turn a large section of this river, into a protected area that is open to tourists and scientists.

All tours contribute to the preservation of the regions you visit and in particular the Amazon Rainforest. We are working to help this further, through local community projects, international research, culture preservation, and most important conservation and reforestation.

My page is to reach out to those in the science community who believe they can offer the Amazonia region help. We're looking to build a safe place that supports and allows Brazilian and international researchers, a base.

Over the years I have been putting up cameras to see what we have in our jungle, and I was blown away with our biodiversity, and to think what is still to be discovered just excites me.

We want people to leave here not with just beautiful memories, not just new friends, but also to help us return what has been taken all over the Amazonia region. We need to reforest the lost forests, we need to educate our younger generation on the penalties of ignorance and economic greed. Plants are the energy source of the world, the very breath you inhale, the food on your plate, even the fossilized plants that produce the very energy that it takes to charge your device to access this website.

If you can help, I'd love to hear about your projects and how we can work together on protecting this special place.

Thank you
