REFORESTATION

So one of the big projects we had for 2020 was reforestation, but because of what's been happening around the world, we've moved this back to 2021.

We all know we need to reforest the lost forests, they need our help in doing so too. You can not hope that the huge ancient trees will spring up in the middle of a cleared area, these species require the shade and company of other species to do so.

I have seen the areas affected by humans starting fires or taking down huge trees and these areas haven't regrown at all, after many years.

We will be looking to work with companies, the public, and tourists to fund the necessary replantation of these areas and to grow the species that can live with full sun and introduce the shade-tolerant giants thereafter. These forests will take decades to regrow, but we have to start now, we have to use our initiative because we know the people who govern our countries have no environmental concerns, their eyes are on the false dream of money that will make everyone happy. You and I know this isn't true, when did you watch a documentary on money and think Woah that's cute and amazing, it's so beautiful.

But you did sit there and watch an animal and nature program and think that's beautiful didn't you!

WILDLIFE MONITERING

You.png

One of the ideas we trialed in 2017 was a remote camera project, I took 3 cameras into the jungle when we went in with tourists and left them for a couple of days to see what we were missing with our eyes.

It turned out to be an incredible insight into what goes unnoticed with our human eyes. I have put a number of the videos into a gallery for you to all see, these are only the best bits we've cropped for you to see, and we have hours of some species in front of the cameras.

We decided we need to expand that system and will be going in with more cameras to make a real map of the jungle, we call home here on Rio Urubu.

I've seen some incredible projects that have successfully done this in Peru and I hope to emulate their projects with our vision too.

Your bookings, deposits, purchases, and support will help protect this rainforest, and together return what has been lost.

Our conservation tours will put you in the hands-on experience of replanting the Amazon Rainforest or helping check our camera traps and the animals that call this magical place home.

Our reforestation tour will be based on the banks of the Rio Urubu and will focus on our surrounding territory. All meals will be provided, there is the opportunity to fish, cook and take day trips into the forest looking for seeds and plants.

The Camera monitoring program will be nights in the jungle, led by our guides. Its focus is to look for signs of animals on camera but also identify the forest foods they may be eating, and find their tracks to help us position cameras in the future. All meals will be cooked and prepared for you in the jungle by your guide.

If you would like a mixture of both experiences for your inventory we will try our best to make this possible also.

Thanks

Rio

Both tours are subject to booking and will understandably be popular, we would like to welcome educational and environmental groups to contact us, the more hands we have the better.

Because together we are stronger.
