Brazil is the most biodiverse country on Earth, with 17.6% of Earth's known birds living here, 13.6% of Earths amphibians, 11.8% of Earths mammals, 7.9% reptiles on Earth, 13.7% of Earths fish, and an incredible 18.2% of Earths vascular plants reported by Mongabay.

We currently have tours in 3 biomes in Brazil; Atlantic Forests in Rio de Janeiro, Savannah in the Tocantins, and Tropical Amazon Rainforest in Para and Amazonas.

A huge variety of animals live in these areas and on my travels I've been very lucky to see so many to date.

My experiences to date have seen - Snakes, Frogs, Lizards, Toucans, Hummingbirds, and Other Birds and Monkeys in the Atlantic Forest.

Tapirs, Capybara, Snakes, Frogs, Rheas, Bush Dogs, Deer, Macaws, Toucans, and other Birds and Fish in the Savannah.

Caiman, River Dolphins, Iguanas and Lizards, Lots of Snakes, Spiders, Huge Variety of Fish including Pirarucu and 4 Types of Piranha, Stingrays, Toucans, Macaws, Hawks and lots of other Birds, Sloths, Paca's, Agoutis, Large Variety of Monkeys, Poison Arrow Frogs, Turtles and Tortoises, Otters and Giant Otters.

I've seen the tracks of the beautiful savannah's Maned Wolf, I've followed Jaguar tracks in Amazonas, and been roared at by a few too!

Something you don't forget!

A few of the most memorable of my experiences is coming face to face with 2 pumas on a track. Finding a Red Emerald Tree Boa asleep on a plant next to me. Seeing a group of Manatees swimming in the middle of the river. Watching 2 Tayras climbing down a tree and 1 of them coming over to me to investigate what I am!

Lastly calling to a Spider monkey, thinking I'm fluent in Spider Monkey, and being roared at by a jaguar 50m behind me instead!

Unbelievable experience!

We have a Gallery on our site - Remote Cameras, here you can see the animals that pass you during the day/night that you don't see sometimes.

We can't guarantee what you will see of course, because nature is always unpredictable, but we ensure that your guide, is as passionate about nature and the environment as I am, thus the name Friends of Rio, these are the people of the true Brazil.
