So we've been running the Brazilian Artisan for 4 years already, and it all started with my love for indigenous jewelry. I've always worn natural jewelry and on a trip to the museum of indigenous peoples, in RJ during carnival, I met X'Maya working there.

We chatted under some big trees and he passed across his pipe, as I sifted through all the jewelry he had made. 

It was this moment that changed my love for jewelry, into bringing it out of Brazil, for others to enjoy as well. It helped X Maya showcase his art and culture, and has since allowed me to show other indigenous cultures throughout Brazil. I've traveled a lot of Brazil, and at every moment I've found an indigenous artist selling jewelry I've stopped to give them my time.

At present, I work with 7 beautiful artists from 7 different indigenous communities across Brazil. I'm forever in negotiations for new products, searching for unique pieces, and of most importance that the customer knows it came direct from an authentic artist and is a piece of culture as well as art.

I've also met people inspired by indigenous art and jewelry like myself who've gone on to make their natural jewelry, which I've brought to the store.

From a beautiful retiree here in Amazonas making stunning jewelry, to rubber tree communities living in remote areas of River Tapajos.
